Legs Crossed with One Hand on Hip

If you want to achieve a flattering shot while wearing a bikini, find a beautiful background like palm trees, the beach or a pool and stand in front of it with your right leg crossed over your left and your right hand on your hip. You can place your left arm behind your butt or play with your hair with your left hand. Look off into the distance and stand on your tippy-toes to achieve a photo you won’t be able to stop looking at!

The Mirror Picture

If you don’t want to make a scene at the pool or the beach while taking pictures, but you still want to show off your swimsuit, try taking a mirror picture. This is a great way to test out many different poses in the comfort of your own home, but our favorite mirror picture pose is with your left arm bent over your head or have your left hand combing through your hair while poking out your right hip. This flattering pose will make your curves pop while giving you a supermodel look. Pro tip: Try taking this picture in portrait mode if you have an iPhone! This pose can also be a great way to figure out what to wear over a swimsuit because you will be able to figure out what looks best before you leave.

Casual Seat

Whether you’re at the beach or poolside lounging, try these sitting poses! Sit on the ground or on a cooler, chair, lifeguard station or by the edge of the pool with one knee in front of you and your other leg tucked in front of you. You can sit back with both arms planted behind you, or you can lean onto your knee with one arm. This go to pose looks effortlessly stylish. You can also put both legs forward in front of you while leaning back for the ultimate sunbathing shot. If you want a pose that is more relaxed, try bending your knee and bringing one foot to the other leg’s inner thigh. Seated poses are also great if you have cute shoes you want to show off.

Glamour Shot

Do you love wearing cute accessories to the pool or beach? If so, this pose is for you. Have a friend get a close-up shot of you and your jewels while sitting on the edge of the pool or coming up from the water. To achieve a pose that shows off your jewelry and swimsuit, find a shallow part of the pool and place both hands outside of the pool to help you push yourself up out of the pool. Have your friend/photographer take the photo as you emerge from the water.

Playful Knee Pose

If you want a shot that is flattering and playful, try sitting on both of your knees and posing with both hands on your knees, or have your hands combing through your hair to show off your swimsuit. You can do this in sand or in shallow water. Change up the angles to get the best shot!

Action Shot

Have your friend capture a video of you walking and twirling on the beach. You can go through this video later to freeze-frame some of your favorite poses. The candid and natural way you will be moving your body will create beautiful poses naturally. These are the best kinds of photos.

Hanging out at a nice pool or lounging on the beach in cute chairs? This great pose and shot might be for you! If you want to get a shot that seems effortless, but makes your swimsuit and body shape look stunning, try lounging on a longer chair with your body extended and hands above your head. This will elongate your figure and give you a chance to show off your cute suit! This pose should look natural, but take a couple of photos and play around with your pose until you get your desired shot. Posing for the camera is an art form, but it's one that can be mastered with practice.
